Enhancing Environmental Governance through Disaster and Environment Structures (EEGDES)

The Project titled “Enhancing Environmental Governance Through District Disaster Management Committee and Environmental Governance Structures in Kotido District”  The project is being implementedin the Sub counties of Rengen and Kamoru.  Addresses the two core problems, 1. Ineffective District Disaster Risk Management and Environmental Governance Structures, 2. The Relative Capacity of Justice and Peace Department. The project seeks to address the above problems though the objectives 1. Increased capability to enforce and implement environmental policies at local level, 2. The justice and peace department of kotido catholic diocese has the technical and financial capacity to be an effective player in the diocesan territories. The project on one hand, aims to organize and support District Environmental Committee meetings, District Disaster Risk Management Committee Meetings, formation of the Sub-County and Parish Environmental Committees at local level. The projects aims at conducting trainings for JPD-K and NRD staff of KDLG, On the other hand, the project aims to improve the relative capacity of justice and peace through provision of trainings on website management, financial management and accountability, training on proposal writing, resource mobilization, ToT, advocacy and community facilitation, and design of the JPD-K website.
